i was just thinking and i suddenly remembered playing king of the bed in mo and dads room in st.louis... it started by lying in a line, with our heads on the pillows doing kind of a kick line thing with our legs and chanting somthing about "DE-FEET, DE-FEET..." what was that and where did it come from?
does this happen to ya'll too? you have a sudden memory that just makes you laugh out loud regaurdless of the company you are in? do tell...

Dad and I have been playing that game since we were first married! Well, I don't know about the "DE-FEET" part, that came from you kids and I have no idea how it got started. You might say it is an incremental game, it started with two people and with each child who was added to the family the game got bigger and a little more raucous and the game always ended with Dad saying, Okay you guys, settle down or someone's gonna get hurt!!!" We're down to two people again and we haven't played for a long time....I have a feeling one of us would get hurt! I'm glad you have spontaneous happy memories from childhood.
This morning Henry was pouncing on me -trying to get me out of bed (always a challenge for him). I told him I was king of the bed, but he didn't believe me.
I can honestly say I have never even tasted my kids' formula milk, let alone my own "mother's milk". Yuck! I can tell you will be a brave, "hands-on" mama, Emily! Thanks for sharing the funny memory. :) And come back to our little site anytime. Visitors are always welcome!
Oh Emily! That is a choice, choice memory. It will have me chuckling out loud for a few days. My other favorite story is the one about Carrie and how freeze dried peas retain their "pea-ness".
How fun is it to have your own Family Blog?! I found it quite by accident today and thought you would like to know that I have been here (just in case you thought I was an intruder). All is well here - a little warm for June, but the kids are enjoying the summer and are all very brown. We hope to see you all agian soon. Dave O.
