A Day in the Life of an Oscarson

What is the best thing that has happened to you today? (Even if today has been the most ordinary day ever...nothing is too big or too small to share with the fam.)

Un-be-knownst to Emily and Abby, I flew into Houston last night to spend a few days. I knocked on EJ's door at midnight last night and gave her the surprise of her life (or at least her week, I think :). The look on her face was priceless when she saw me walk in her door.

Today I walked into Abby and James' sacrament meeting just after the sacrament with Mo and EJ. Abby and James were sitting on the stand because they were the speakers. We marched in and sat right in the center where they would see us. Abby did an admirable job of keeping the "podium poker face" when she saw I was there. But, she smiled a lot and that made me very happy.

They both gave outstanding talks that were very touching.

I'm in Houston until Wednesday. Staying in the Eddie Bauer room is better than any 5-star hotel. I'm in paradise. Thanks Mo and Dad!

That wasn't really fair of me...I had some unusually superb "best things that has happened to me today" moments. I still want to hear about yours.

Well, that's easy. It was having Sarah come all the way from Oregon to be with us for the next few days. Yesterday I looked around as I was driving my little red jeep home from Abby's house and I had three happy, chatty, funny daughters and one darling dimpled granddaughter in the car with me. Life just doesn't get much funner than that!

The best thing that happened to me today (Tuesday, Feb 22) is that one of my activity girls announces to me after we made a dinner for an invalid member of our ward, "Yeah my ring worm is really acting up...it really itches right now..." That was definitely the highlight.

On the day that question was posed, it would have to have been when my mom and sisters and cute nieces drove all the way to Sugar Land (a.k.a. Candy Land) to take me away from my stressful job for a blissful, lovely lunch hour [and 15 min or so]. We ate till we were full...and then had cupcakes. And it made me happy.

That made me happy, too, Abby!

Rich emailed me from Africa. He is going to a township outside of Port Elizabeth where they speak Xhosa and English. Xhosa is the click talk of the bushmen. Cool huh?
This is MOM in Orem by the way.
Trust me you know me
