Naughty Family! I am going to post some happy nostalgia from my childhood to get things going again, ok?
I have so many memories that involve being very sleepy--but happy--on those funny little futons in the back of the van. Most of the memories are songs I heard there. Who knows what was going on up front--a different world in which I was not welcome. (I am drawing upon my pesky younger sibling status to evoke guilt and sympathy from the rest of you:) By the way, I can see so vividly the ceiling and dripping air conditioning vents...Also the bottoms of the seats...ok, happy songs:
Almost Paradise (Footloose Soundtrack?)
The entire Footloose Soundtrack
For The Longest Time by Billy Joel. Go find it on Youtube, It will make you happy to hear it.
Anything John Denver. Those say family vacations and Lake of the Ozarks.
My Turn on Earth Soundtrack
Just to name a few. Next time we'll talk about how Emily, Spencer, and I spent all of New Jersey & Mass roaming in the wilderness all day long, miles from home...and just where Mom thought we were...and if she ever worried...and if she probably should have worried. We almost lost Rod Stratton in that darn river.
Wish I had some old photo to post. Anyone?

Is anybody there? Does anybody care? Does anybody see what I see? --John Adams
Come on people, where are you? Just wanted you to know, Babs, that I enjoyed reading about your childhood memories. Apparently, no one else has any. I am looking for a pic of you as a baby with me. We didn't have digital cameras back then so we didn't take as many pics. I promise, I held and cuddled you a lot!
It is scary how quickly you transported me to the back of the blue and silver van (WITH the red racing stripe!) with those blue futons and the dripping air conditioner. I had forgotten about the dripping water. Are AC vents supposed to do that? You nailed it on the head, Abs. Those were the songs. Those were the days. Pass the waxy donuts.
We had good times, didn't we? Will my kids say the same about their childhood? Waverly will be 45 and still saying, "You are sooo embarrassing me, Mom!" At least she gets a seat belt in our van. She should be GRATEFUL. :)
I've got to dig out some old pictures here soon. This was too much fun.
