It has recently come our family's attention that our son and brother has been modeling for paintings of Old Testament Prophets. We can't say that we are surprised. He has always had a certain "je-ne-sais-quoi" about him. Now we realize that it was an inner spiritual greatness just waiting to be discovered. So tell me, does this look like someone we all know and love?

Just in case you are interested, this painting recently appeared in the March 2006 issue of the Ensign Magazine on page 8. We were all stunned. He hadn't told us.
I thought that we didn't believe in reincarnation. Dangit...now I'm going to have to start reading my scriptures again to straighten this whole thing out.
Nice guns, spencer. :)
Spence,
Can you tell me where to get a hat with a cobra on it?
I like the family friendly comments on this Blog better than our blog. I also want to know where one gets the hat with a cobra. So stylish.
ok ok... the real reason i went up with mo and dad a few weeks ago was to pos for the final painting. it was a grueling process which included months of research to help me get into character..... and for the record, that IS what my arms look like.
How sad that this was the reason I finally opened the Ensign on my coffee table (which we don't really use for coffee, by the way). I was going to get around to it...I swear (but only figuratively).
I'm totally impressed with the artistic portrayal of a long forgotten ancient handshake ritual. Clasping each others forearms firmly, one hand on the shoulder, followed by erratic chicken dance style arm flapping, and concluded by a supreme Wedgie move.
So, do you think that men slapped each other on the back a lot back then, too? I find that to be such an interesting gender-related habit.
Happy Birthday to Roy Oscarson on the 30th. I hope we are not too much of an embarrassment.
Amen.
And I had forgotten that it was the anniversary of losing our dear aunt and sister....thank you for the reminder. I think of her so often and miss her. I'm glad to know you care enough to do a little lurking...join in any old time!
